Learn To Cycle Training Series #1

Congratulations to the ladies who completed the first Learn To Cycle training series of the season. I would like to hear from you regarding what you learned, what surprised you, and what topics you would like to see in the future.

Our next Learn To Cycle Training Series will be at two locations; City Bicycle Works in Midtown Sacramento, and we have added a Thursday evening class that launches from Bicycles Plus in Folsom. See the Training page at www.PrincessPromenade.com for details.

I had a great time at the Learn to Cycle Clinics. We covered so much...from cycling etiquette, emergency stopping and how to properly use our brakes, a great "Princess" explanation of gear ratio and a chance to practice uphill techniques, and experience riding in a pace line! After each clinic we had a chance to socialize over brunch.

I met new friends including other beginners like me. A couple of us are getting together this Tuesday, April 29, 4 pm at Bicycles Plus in Folsom, any other beginners are welcome to join us as we practice what we learned. That's the best part, finding someone to ride with!

I feel so much more comfortable riding now and my husband noticed it on Sunday when we rode around Lake Natoma. I only wish I'd remembered to ask Janae about the importance of cadence and how to improve it.
